Mural Commission

Wilding Chelmsford - October 2020
In this collaborative project with Resonance and more (see left), Elspeth created two murals, revealed live in the Chelmsford Meadows Shopping Centre, 12-5pm, October 31st 2020.

About the event
Wilding Chelmsford was a collaborative sound and visual installation to provoke thinking about Chelmsford City and what it could become. An empty retail unit was transformed into an indoor garden. The audio part was be an improvised piece composed live using modular and hardware synths making use of the cutting-edge technology of quadraphonic surround sound to create a truly immersive experience. Visuals included photos from the Chelmsford City Events Photo Competition, computer generated art, and two murals painted by Elspeth.
About the murals
Elspeth painted two murals, each 4x2 metres. The murals explored nature and our connections with it. Elspeth took inspiration from the flowers in Chelmer Park and the River Chelmer in Chelmsford.
